Trainee Officer (HR)
Pay Scale: Rs. 8600-14600 (IDA)
Age: Max 30 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Full time Regular Post Graduate Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management (Two years) or MBA with specialization in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations or Master of Social Works from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.

Assistant Hindi Officer
Pay Scale: Rs. 8000-13400 (IDA)
Age: Max 35 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Master’s Degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as an elective subject at the degree level OR Master’s Degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as an elective subject at the degree level. 3 years post qualification experience in the relevant field in any Central/State Govt. Department/PSU or reputed Public Limited Company. Out of which at least 2 years in the scale of pay Rs. 7200-3.5%-13100 (IDA) or equivalent. The candidate should have experience of terminology work in Hindi and / or translation work from English to Hindi and vice-versa, preferably of technical or scientific literature in Central / State Govt./PSU or teaching, research, writing or journalism in Hindi. Specialization / Research work in the relevant area would be an added advantage.
Desirable:
i) Knowledge of any Local Language / dialect will be an advantage to the candidate applying for the post.
ii) Knowledge of Sanskrit and /or any Modern Indian Language.
iii) Experience of organizing Hindi classes or workshops or noting & drafting.
iv) Administrative experience

Stenographer Gr.-III
Pay Scale: Rs. 5800-10790
Age: Max 29 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate with 80/80 w.p.m. speed in English/Hindi Shorthand and 40 w.p.m. speed in English/Hindi typing. 2 years post qualification experience in relevant field. Computer literacy is essential.

Stenographer Gr.-II
Pay Scale: Rs. 6700-12500
Age: Max 32 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate with 100/80 w.p.m. speed in English/Hindi Shorthand and 40 w.p.m. speed in English/Hindi typing. 5 years post qualification experience in Govt./PSU/Large Public Ltd., Company out of which 2 years services in the immediate lower scale of pay Rs. 5800-3%-10790(IDA) (Pre-revised) for Govt./PSUs employees in relevant field. Computer literacy is essential.

Medical Officer
Pay Scale: Rs. 10750-16750
Age: Max 33 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
MBBS Degree with valid registration. 2 years post Internship experience.

Trainee Officer(Finance)
Pay Scale: Rs. 8600-14600(IDA)
Age: Max 30 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
CA/ICWA qualified, from institute recognised by appropriate statutory authority in India.

Trainee Engineer(Civil)
Pay Scale: Rs. 8600-14600 (IDA)
Age: Max 30 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Full time Regular BE / B.Tech in Civil Engg. from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade. AMIE are also eligible.

Trainee Engineer(Electrical)
Pay Scale: Rs. 8600-14600 (IDA)
Age: Max 30 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Full time Regular BE /B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics Engg. from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade. AMIE are also eligible.

Trainee Officer (Geology)
Pay Scale: Rs. 8600-14600 (IDA)
Age: Max 30 yrs as on 1.4.2010
Qualification & Experience:
Full time Regular M.Sc.(Geo.)/ M.Tech. in Applied Geology (should have studied Geology with Maths or Physics at Graduation level), from recognized Indian University / Institute approved by AICTE, with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.

Medical Officer
Pay Scale: Rs. 10750-16750 (IDA

Qualification & Experience:

Placements:
Candidates will be placed, in various parts of the country or abroad, at Projects / Power Stations/ Offices including joint ventures & subsidiary companies of NHPC.

Compensation Package:
NHPC offers one of the best pay packages in the industry. Trainee Engineer/Officer on successful completion of the training period will be placed as Engineer / Officer in the pay scale of Rs. 10750 – 16750 (IDA) (E-2A) with probation period of one year. Medical Officer and Assistant Hindi Officer will also placed with probation period of one year in their respective pay scale. Besides basic pay, candidates will also be paid Industrial Dearness Allowance. Other Allowances and Benefits such as Housing or HRA, Conveyance reimbursement, LTC, Leave encashment, Gratuity, EPF, Group Insurance, Employees’ Pension, Medical reimbursement, Children Education Assistance and News paper / Magazine Allowance and Special Compensatory Allowance etc will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time.

Seletion Process:
Candidates whose registration slip receive on or before the last date of receiving the registration slip along with D.D. (where ever required) through post will have to appear for Written/Skill Test except the post of Medical Officer and Trainee Officer (Finance). List of eligible candidates called for interview will be made available at www.nhpcindia.com & will also be e-mailed to such candidates. The final list of selected candidates will offered “Offer of Appointment”.

Test Centres:
The selection test will be held in 18 cities* as mentioned in the online Application system. Candidates have to choose one city as Test Centre and no change in any circumstances will be considered subsequently. However, NHPC reserves the right to cancel or add any Centre depending on the response of the candidates for that area / centre. Admission to the test will be on production of “Admit Card”, which is to be downloaded only from the site by candidates and should have a duly attested pass port size photograph affixed to it. (*Name of cities- Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Shimla)

Written Test:
Candidates will have choice for appearing in the test in Hindi or English. The test duration will be 3 hours and in three parts i.e. Part –I of 140 multiple – choice questions in the concerned discipline, Part –II of 30 multiple-choice questions on General Awareness and Part-III of 30 multiple-choice questions on Reasoning.

Relaxations & Reservations:
1 Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / Persons with Disabilities will be as per the Govt. norms & directives.
2 No registration fee will be charged from SC / ST / PwD category candidates.
3 All SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates with minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination are eligible for appearing in the test.
4 The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC. It is relaxable by 10 years for PwD- General, 13 years for PwD-OBC and 15 years for PwD-SC/ST candidates.
5 Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
6 SC/ST candidates appearing for written test shall be reimbursed single to & from 2nd class rail /ordinary bus fare by the shortest route limited to the nearest examination centre to the mailing address mentioned in their application form on production of proof.

Service Agreement Bond:
The selected candidates for the post of Trainee Engineer/Officer of General and OBC category will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 2.50 lacs and for SC/ST Rs. 1.25 lacs to successfully complete a minimum period of four years of service in the NHPC Limited including the period spent on training.

General and OBC category candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 250/- through Demand Draft only in favour of “NHPC Limited” payable at Faridabad / New Delhi. No other mode of payment would be accepted. Candidates can visit the online registration site from 1300 hours 26th April’ 2010 to midnight of 16th May’ 2010.
Steps for applying:
Step-1: Log on to www.nhpcindia.com & click on recruitment.
Step-2: Read all instructions given on the website.
Step-3: Fill the On Line Form with relevant details and submit.
Step-4:Take the print of the registration slip generated by the system in duplicate with Unique Registration Number,
Step-5:Affix passport size photograph on registration slip. The candidate has to send one printout of registration slip duly signed along with required demand draft. The registration number, name, discipline and category should be written at the back of DD. Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Hindi Officer and Stenographer Gr.II& Gr.III are required to send photocopies of all testimonials and proof of experience along with the registration slip. The envelope should be super scribed with Advertisement Number, Post applied for and Category (i.e. GEN / OBC / SC / ST / PwD) as the case may be and should be sent by ordinary post (Since postbox does not accept mail through registered post/courier) to:
“Post Box No. 364 at Amar Nagar Post Office, Faridabad – 121003 (Haryana)”. The last date of receiving registration slip along with DD by post from candidate is 31th May’ 2010.

01 Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
02 Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement. 07 Candidature of the registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of recruitment process or after recruitment or joining, if any Information provided by the candidate is found to be false or is not found in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
08 Candidature is also liable to be rejected if valid registration slip is not received or received un-signed or without registration amount or received after the closing date.
09 Candidates appearing in the final year/semester examination should bring their identity card of the Institute / College at the time of Interview.
10 The admit card indicating roll number, name of the allocated test centre, date of Written Test and guidelines for the test will be made available on the NHPC website to the candidates found apparently eligible based on the online data and will also be informed them through e-mail. The candidate has to download his Admit card, Test Guidelines etc. for appearing in the test from the website, date of the same will also be informed to them through e-mail. Admit cards will not be sent by post.
11 Candidates are advised to keep the E-mail ID active for at least one year. No change in E-mail ID will be allowed once entered. All future correspondence shall be sent via E-mail only.
12 Candidates employed with Government Departments / PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies have to produce NOC at the time of Interview.
13 In case of any ambiguity / dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other than English, English version will prevail.
14 NHPC reserves the right to cancel / modify or alter recruitment process, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason there of.
15 Legal jurisdiction will be Faridabad in case of any dispute.
16 Candidates who have already been interviewed against the advertisement no. Rectt/4/2009 for the post of Medical Officer will not be considered again. However, for other disciplines published in the said advertisement interested candidates are required to apply again subject to fulfill other criteria’s.
17 The total number of projected vacancies indicated above may increase/decrease at the discretion of NHPC management.
